Alexane Dupuis and Olivier Adam are the UMoncton athletes of the week
Alexane Dupuis of Dieppe, New Brunswick and Olivier Adam of Drummondville, Quebec, are the IRM Moncton MRI athletes of the week from October 16 to 22, 2023 as chosen by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Midfielder and team captain Alexane Dupuis was certainly a key player in the Aigles Bleues' two weekend soccer games. Despite the disappointing results, she demonstrated outstanding performances. She played two great games and was the mainstay of her team. She is the midfield player with the most recovered balls. Her consistency and focus are an example of perseverance, even in the most difficult moments of the games. She is a third-year student in Education (Physical Education).
Rookie goaltender Olivier Adam picked up two wins between the pipes for the Aigles Bleus in men's hockey this weekend. He stopped 30 shots Saturday and was named the game's first star in a 3-1 win over the Axemen in Wolfville. On Friday in Halifax, he stopped 32 shots and kept his team in the game with a 5-2 win over the Huskies. He didn't allow a goal on 5 shorthanded occasions. He is a 1st year student in the Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering) program.
