The last soccer games of the Université de Moncton's Moncton campus teams of the 2023-2024 regular season will be played on Friday and Saturday at Stade Croix Bleue Medavie Stadium.

The Aigles Bleus (3-4-3=12 points, 6th position) in men's soccer still have a chance to participate in the Atlantic University Sport Championship tournament. The Aigles have scored 11 times in 10 games and allowed 12 goals.

For their part, the Aigles Bleues (0-7-3=3 points, 9th position) in women's soccer have been eliminated from the championship and will complete their season on Saturday. Moncton has scored 8 goals this season in 10 games and allowed 38.

The X-Women (10-0-0=30 points, 1st position) and X-Men (7-2-1=22 points, 2nd position) from St. Francis Xavier University will be the Blue and Gold's opponents on Friday at 5 p.m. (women) and 7:15 p.m. (men). On Saturday at 2 p.m. and 4:15 p.m., the Cape Breton University Capers (9-1-0=27 points, 2nd place) on the women's side and (9-0-1=28 points, 1st position) on the men's side will battle the Aigles

“We have quite a challenge ahead of us,” said Aigles Bleus coach Younes Bouida. “Three teams are hot on our heels for the 6th and final AUS championship qualifying spot. We will have to work harder to gain points in the standings. We've been recharging our batteries and planning some intensive training this week to make sure we're competitive against the top two teams. Our team is capable of surprising, but we will have to give it our all to have no regrets.” Dalhousie and Acadia are 7th and 8th in the men's standing, one point behind the Aigles Bleus and UPEI is two points behind.

The coach of the Aigles Bleues, Mehyar Zekaroui, will use these two games to continue the development of his players. “We've improved this season compared to the last few seasons. We're up against the two best university teams. Our young team can only gain experience and be competitive. We want to identify and manage the important moments of each half well to avoid conceding consecutive goals in short periods of time as has happened in the last two games.”

The public is invited to attend the games. It is possible to buy tickets at the stadium entrance.
