Maritza Labrie and Jérémy Michel are the UMoncton athletes of the week
Maritza Labrie of Saint-Quentin, New Brunswick, and Jérémy Michel of Lévis, Québec, are the IRM Moncton MRI athletes of the week from October 9 to 15, 2023 as chosen by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Forward Maritza Labrie had quite a weekend with the Aigles Bleues in AUS women's hockey. She had a goal and an assist in her team's weekend games, including the winner on Saturday with a 5-4 win. She also won 52 per cent of her faceoffs. Her exemplary play motivated her teammates in both games. She is a third-year student in the baccalaureate in education-physical education.
Jérémy Michel is in his second season with the Aigles Bleus in men's hockey. A capable forward, he scored three goals in his team's victories this weekend, including the tying game and the winner on Saturday evening. He was chosen the first star of the game. He finished the games +3 with 9 shots on goal. He is a second-year student in the bachelor of kinesiology.
