The Université de Moncton soccer teams have only three more home games left in the Atlantic University Sport regular season.

The Aigles Bleues (0-6-3=3pts, 9th position) will host the Dalhousie University Tigers (4-4-1=13pts, 5th position) on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Medavie Blue Cross Stadium in women's soccer. The team needs the three points to keep its chances of a spot in the AUS championship alive. Saint Mary's currently holds the 6th and final qualifying spot with 10 points, 7 more than Moncton. The weekend's results will be decisive for Mehyar Zekaroui's team.

“We know the importance of this game,” Zekaroui said ahead of the game. “We're still looking for our first win of the season and it's possible on Saturday. However, we will have to keep the focus for the full 90 minutes of play and control the game in our zone. We've been practising for the last two weeks to do well against the Tigers.”

The Aigles Bleus (3-3-3=12pts, 5th position) want to confirm their qualification by playing the Dalhousie University Tigers (2-5-2=8pts, 8th position) at 3:15 p.m. at the same venue. The team needs a big 3 points to keep its chances alive and move away from the other teams lower in the standings, including the Tigers.

“It's certainly a very important game to qualify us for the AUS championship for the second year in a row,” said coach Younes Bouida. “With three tough games at home, we want to step up our game and keep improving. It won't be easy, but we're ready to fight hard together on the pitch to come out with wins and show our true potential.”

People are invited to Stade Croix Bleue Medavie Stadium on Saturday for these two important high-calibre soccer games.
