Hockey Aigles Bleus face Reds on Friday
It's a tall order for the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (0-1-0) when they visit the University of New Brunswick Reds on Friday evening in an Atlantic University Sport men's hockey game at the Aitken University Centre starting at 7 p.m.
The Blue and Gold lost their inaugural game 4-2 last Wednesday against the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers. Coach Derek Cormier has a lot of work ahead of him to prepare his players for this game against the 2022-2023 champions, and who are favorites again this year according to polls.
“It's another game and it's not going to be easy,” coach Derek Cormier said. “We need to regroup after our Wednesday game. This is UNB's first home game of the season and we're going to do everything we can to get the two points. I have a good mix of veterans and rookies who can play, and I have the chance to pick and change the roster this season.”
According to defencemen Jacob Dion: “The Reds are a good team, and we must build on the positives. We did some things that weren't acceptable on Wednesday, and we must continue to work hard in practice and games to play well according to our systems.”
