Madeleine Belliveau and Mattéo Blanc are the UMoncton athletes of the week
Madeleine Belliveau of Dieppe, New Brunswick and Mattéo Blanc of Flavin, France, are the IRM Moncton MRI athletes of the week from September 25 to October 1, 2023, as chosen by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Aigles Bleues rookie and striker Madeleine Belliveau scored twice in
Saturday's women's soccer game against the Saint Mary's University Huskies.
She scored the first goal of the game, and her second levelled the score at 2-2. Madeleine
had a great game with great offensive generosity. She managed to alternate playing on her
feet and in her space, which helped her to be unpredictable in front of the opponent. She
has adapted well for two games and trusts her qualities. She is a first-year student in
general business administration.
Goaltender Mattéo Blanc once again demonstrated his know-how in front of the Aigles Bleus net in men's soccer by making 12 key saves that kept his team in the game and won 2-1. His play and dynamism allowed his team to turn the momentum of the opponent. He is a 1st year student in the Bachelor of Sports, Recreation and Tourism Management.
