Sophie Black and Lionel Feval are UMoncton's athletes of the week
Sophie Black from Dieppe and Lionel Feval from Rivière Salée in Martinique are the IRM Moncton MRI athletes of the week from September 18 to 24, 2023 as chosen by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Aigles Bleues runner Sophie Black won the bronze medal in her
category and took a third place finish in the Atlantic University Sport cross country race
held in the Wolfville area on Saturday noon. She posted a time of 32m17s, 25 seconds
behind the champion. She stayed with the group of leaders throughout the race, her first
of the young season. She is a fifth-year student in science,
nutrition-food.
Midfielder Lionel Feval offered a consistent performance during the two Aigles Bleus men's weekend soccer games. He registered an assist and scored a goal during the games. Despite fatigue and recent injuries, he played with great intensity and demonstrated exemplary leadership that strengthens the team's identity for the rest of the season. He is a 4th year student in the Bachelor of Sports, Recreation and Tourism Management.
