The Université de Moncton soccer teams will play games on the road this weekend at Atlantic University Sport soccer action.

The women's (0-4-2=2pts, 8th position) and men's (2-2-2, 8pts, 4th position) teams will be in Sackville on Friday evening for games against the Mount Allison University Mounties at 5 p.m. (0-4-0=0pts, 10th position women) and 7:15 p.m. (0-3-1=1pt, 10th position men) respectively. The University of New Brunswick Reds and the Aigles will face each other Saturday at 1 p.m. (0-3-1=1pt, 9th position) and 3:15 p.m. (2-1-1=7pts, 5th position) in the capital city.

“These are two teams that are within our reach and we should get our first win of the season,” said coach Mehyar Zekaroui of the Aigles Bleues. “We met these two teams in the pre-season and we know what to expect. However, we have some injuries to key players and we will rely on others this weekend. This will be their opportunity to demonstrate their possibilities.”

For his part, Younes Bouida of the Aigles Bleus men's team knows that his opponents are capable, regardless of ranking. “All games are battles,” he reiterated. “We know these two teams and we need to stay focused and play with intensity. We are looking for a 6-point weekend. We have several injuries and it's not easy to play against these two New Brunswick teams on the road.”

People can watch all four games on AUStv.ca.
