New Brunswick MedTech Summit presented in Moncton
Co-hosted by the Université de Moncton, the McKenna Institute, ResearchNB, and Venn Innovation, the New Brunswick MedTech Summit will take place on September 27 and 28, 2023 at the Delta Beauséjour in Moncton.
The first gathering of its kind has a goal of expanding and enhancing the province’s health technology ecosystem. The Summit is bringing together researchers, health providers and key health industry members to improve health care delivery in New Brunswick through collaboration, discussion, and innovation.
"We have strong researchers across New Brunswick working at the intersection of health and technology” says Dr. Francis LeBlanc, Associate Vice-President (Research) at Université de Moncton. “We look forward to showcasing our research capacity and fostering new connections that will be beneficial across our ecosystem.”
The Summit will feature a fireside chat with Jeff Leger, President of Shoppers Drug Mart, and a keynote address from Dr. Josephine McMurray, Associate Professor at Wilfrid Laurier University and Associate Scientific Director of AGE-WELL NCE. Various researchers from academic institutes in the province, including l’Université de Moncton (UdeM) and the University of New Brunswick (UNB), will be presenting their areas of research.
"The health and technology space in New Brunswick is growing” says Adrienne Oldford, Executive Director of the McKenna Institute. “With growth, comes the need to explore new collaborative opportunities. The MedTech Summit provides a venue where the health technology ecosystem can come together and explore new ways of working together.”
The event will begin with a welcome reception from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27th, followed by the Summit from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28th. There will be an ongoing industry showcase with kiosks for the duration of the summit for attendees to make further connections.
The New Brunswick MedTech Summit is open to the public. Tickets to the event can be purchased online. Ticket purchase is required to secure registration for the event.
