The two Université de Moncton teams will each play two home games this weekend at Stade Croix Bleue Medavie Stadium in Atlantic University Sport soccer action.

The Aigles Bleues (0-2-2) and the Aigles Bleues (1-2-1) will host the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers on Friday at 5 p.m. (1-1-1) and 7:15 p.m. (1-0-2) respectively. On Sunday, Acadia University Axewomen (3-0-0) and Axemen (1-1-1) will be the visitors at 3 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. respectively. The Panthers and Aigles played two ties Friday of last week in Charlottetown.

The Aigles Bleues played to two draws last weekend and coach Mehyar Zekaroui expects more close games. “I'm expecting two different games," Zekaroui said ahead of the weekend. “We will face an opponent we have already played against, and it will be positive. The team has a very good mindset, and everyone is confident. We narrowly missed two wins last weekend. We are hopeful of a first win against the Panthers and a very good game against Acadia.”

The Aigles Bleus coach Younes Bouida is also confident following his team’s first victory Sunday against the Sea-Hawks and a draw against the Panthers. “We are confident that we can win at home this weekend,” he said. “I know that both games will not be easy. We will need to fight and fight for each ball and remain focused.”

The Aigles had taken a 2-0 lead in the second half against the Panthers before seeing the latter score twice late in the game to level the score.

According to player Jonathan Kisse, “the team is full of confidence. We are looking for a six-point weekend. The team performed well last weekend with the support of the fans. I scored two goals and I hope that will continue. I am determined, confident and excited about what is to come.”

Fans can purchase tickets for the matches at the stadium entrance before and during each game.
