Mylène Frenette and Philippe Gallant are UMoncton athletes of the week
Mylène Frenette of Tremblay and Philippe Gallant of Bathurst, New Brunswick, are
the IRM Moncton MRI athletes of the week from August 28 to September 3, 2023, as chosen by
the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
A
central defensive player, Mylène Frenette provided consistent and efficient play
during the Aigles Bleues two Atlantic University Sport women's soccer games last
weekend in Nova Scotia. A rookie, she was often in the brunt of the opposing teams’
attacks and played with an exemplary and continuous effort. She managed to win several
defensive duels against CBU and StFX forwards and give the necessary support and cover to
her teammates. She is a first-year preparatory student of the Bachelor of Social Work
Program.
Forward Philippe Gallant played two excellent games with the Aigles Bleus in men's AUS soccer. He showed a lot of volume defensively and good offensive actions. He created several key attack actions, demonstrated exemplary leadership, and played with an iron mind. He was named his team's MVP in Sunday's game. He is a 4th year student in the Bachelor of Business Administration, marketing.
