AEUM and Université de Moncton administration reach agreement in principle
The Association des employés de l'Université de Moncton - Personnel de soutien administratif et le personnel d'entretien et métier (AEUM) and the administration of the Université de Moncton reached an agreement in principle on a new labour contract today August 26, 2023, putting an end to a negotiation process that began last December.
For President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Denis Prud’homme, "this five-year agreement in principle is the fruit of several months of work, and I would like to thank the negotiating committees for their dedication", he adds, "this stability enables us to ensure a quality student experience, and is in line with our strategy of providing a healthy, stimulating and caring environment for the entire university community".
The AEUM members will have to ratify the agreement in principle. For its part, the University administration should be able to submit the agreement to the Board of Governors for approval at its next meeting on September 23, 2023, in Edmundston.
