Director of Hockey Operations Luc Michaud and coach Derek Cormier are pleased that 20-year-old Drummondville player Jérémy Lapointe has signed his U SPORTS letter of agreement to line up with the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey for the 2023-2024 season.

Standing 6 feet 2 inches tall, 210 pounds, he was born in Acton Vale, Quebec and just played his final season of major junior eligibility with the Drummondville Voltigeurs. “I know people who play for the Aigles Bleus, and I've heard good things about the team, the university and the city,” said the left winger. “My meeting with the hockey staff is the best I've had. I felt their passion and desire to win and that's what convinced me to join the team.”

His main goal is to help the team win a championship. “Personally, my goal is to continue my development and try to become a better player every day. I've been playing hockey since I was 4 years old. I'm a player with a good touch around the net and I love scoring goals. I am also a versatile player who likes to play in all situations.”

Speed is more important than ever in hockey and he's aiming for improvement in that area. He stresses that his defensive game is good, but that he can still improve. He is enrolled in Business Administration – Finance at the Moncton campus. He is also an avid golfer.

He has played in the past with present players Remy Anglehart, Thomas Pelletier, and Charles-Edouard Drouin and 5 consecutive seasons with Jacob Dion. Olivier Adam is a good childhood friend. He played 4 seasons with the Voltigeurs having appeared in 229 regular season games. He scored 93 goals, including last 40 seasons with 44 assists for 137 points. He played 17 playoff games and scored 3 points.
