Horia-Daniel Iancu Appointed Vice-Dean of Health Sciences and Community Services
The Board of Governors has appointed Horia-Daniel Iancu as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Community Services at the Université de Moncton.
Iancu has been a professor at the Université de Moncton's School of Kinesiology and Recreation Science since 2012. Originally from Romania, he graduated from the National Academy of Physical Education and Sports in Bucharest (1994), with a dual specialization in physical education and sports coaching (tennis). He holds a master's degree in human psychomotricity (1996) and a doctorate in physical education and sport (2001). Iancu has over 10 years' experience in university administration, as director of the School of Kinesiology and Recreation Science and head of the physical education and kinesiology programs.
His research activities are inspired by topical issues relevant to the fields of physical education, human kinetics and interdisciplinary health. The results of his research projects have been published in various scientific journals and presented at numerous symposia, congresses and scientific conferences in Canada and abroad.
Iancu will take office on July 1, 2023 for a regular five-year term.
