Women's Hockey: Aigles Bleues Host Panthers Friday Evening
The Université de Moncton's Aigles Bleues will kick off their 2022-2023 season with two Atlantic University Sport women's field hockey games this weekend.
Marc-André Côté's squad hosts the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers on Friday at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena in the opening game of the season. On Saturday, the Blue and Gold will travel to Fredericton to face the University of New Brunswick Reds at 7 p.m.
“Every season beginning is exciting and brings an interesting challenge for everyone,” said Aigles Bleues head coach Marc-André Côté. “We can't wait to get started. This season, fans will see a fast and solid defensive team with good goalkeepers. We also have good defenders and players capable of playing on 200 feet. I believe our challenge will still be to score goals. We will not give up many goals. We'll see how the season develops.”
For the new captain, Isadora Quirion, “we will ice a very fast team with several good elements. We just need to put all this together. We aim to play a constant game, and to offer a good performance. The results will follow. It's exciting to play our first official game and we can't wait to be on the ice.”
Each member of the team will be introduced at the start of the game on Friday. Fans will be able to purchase admission tickets at the rink box office prior to the game.
