Women's Hockey: Aigles Bleues seek fourth straight win in Charlottetown on Wednesday

A three-game winning streak is on the line Wednesday night as the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (19-9-9-0-1=19pts, 5th place) travel to Charlottetown to face the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers (18-11-5-0-2=24pts, 4th place) in Atlantic University Sport women's hockey.

It will be the fourth of the last six games of the regular season for Marc-André Côté's team, which is looking to move closer to the Panthers in fourth place in the standings with a four-point game.

“We want to improve our chances of climbing the standings for the end-of-season playoffs,” said Marc-André Côté. “We have built on our three wins in a row, a first this season. We still need to improve our offense to shoot more often and put more players in front of their net. Our play in all three ice zones was prioritized during our last training sessions. We are on a path that we want to continue.”

Moncton has allowed just two goals in its last three games since returning to action with two shutouts. The Aigles Bleues have scored 36 goals and allowed 44 in 19 games this season compared to 42 and 42 in 18 games for the Panthers who won their last outing.
