Université de Moncton to Confer Over 1,000 Diplomas and Certificates

The three campuses of Université de Moncton will confer more than 1,000 diplomas and certificates at its May 2021 graduation ceremonies. Due to the current situation, the ten ceremonies will be offered virtually on May 21, 22, 29 and 30, 2021.

Université de Moncton will also bestow the status of Emeritus Professor on three faculty members who have demonstrated distinction in teaching, research and service to the community during their respective careers. Michel Doucet will become Professor Emeritus of Law, Nha Nguyen of Business Administration, and Donald Poirier of Law.

One graduate per campus and faculty was selected by their peers to deliver the valedictory speech at the ceremonies; they are:

Edmundston campus: Serge Martin, graduate of the Bachelor of Forest Management program;

Shippagan campus:  Marie-Lee Haché, graduate of the Health Sciences Diploma (D.S.S.) preparatory program;

Faculty of Administration: Haïssam Téné Fongang, graduate of the Bachelor of Business Administration (Management) – Cooperative program;

Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences: Sue Duguay, graduate of the Bachelor of Social Sciences (major in Political Science, minor in Management Science and minor in Economics) program;

Faculty of Law: Tristian Gaudet, Juris Doctor graduate;

Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research: Vanessa Tshiunza Ntumba, graduate of the Master of Business Administration program;

Faculty of Engineering: Emilie Savoie, graduate of the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) program;

Faculty of Science: Mathieu Perron-Cormier, graduate of the Bachelor of Science (Physics) program;

Faculty of Health Sciences and Community Services: Jaber Najim, graduate of the Bachelor of Recreation, Sports and Tourism Management program;

Faculty of Education Sciences: Michelle Deveau, graduate of the Bachelor of Arts and Education (major in French Studies and minor in Personal and Social Development) program.

Friends and family are also invited to view the ceremonies as soon as they are made available online and to celebrate the journey and success of our graduates in the comfort of their homes.

Here is the detailed schedule of the virtual graduation ceremonies:

  • May 21st: Shippagan campus (2 p.m.)
  • May 22st: Edmundston campus (2 p.m.)
  • May 29th: Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (10 a.m.), Faculty of Administration (12 p.m.), Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (2 p.m.) and Faculty of Law (5 p.m.)
  • May 30th: Faculty of Engineering (10 a.m.), Faculty of Health Sciences and Community Services (12 p.m.), Faculty of Science (3 p.m.) and Faculty of Education (5 p.m.)
