CIBC has made a major donation of $250,000 to the Université de Moncton’s Evolution Fundraising Campaign.

The announcement was made today in the presence of André-Phillippe Caissie, Account Manager, Commercial Banking at CIBC and president of the Réseau de L’alUMni of the Université de Moncton’s Faculty of Administration, Camille Thériault, co-chair of the Evolution Fundraising Campaign, and Jacques Paul Couturier, Interim President and Vice-Chancellor of the Université de Moncton.

This donation will top up the Fonds de bourses CIBC scholarship fund, which has a market value of over $188,000. The fund provides scholarships for full-time students at any campus of the Université de Moncton enrolled in an undergraduate Finance or Business Administration program (co-op) in the Faculty of Administration.

Through the Bourse CIBC, CIBC provides essential financial aid to a new generation of students. “Since it was created, the CIBC fund has assisted 12 students,” Mr. Caissie noted.

“We want our students to have an unforgettable experience as part of a stimulating intellectual community while taking advantage of a multitude of interactions, services and learning opportunities that support their training,” said Mr. Couturier. “This donation shows the exemplary engagement of CIBC, which is an officer of the Order of the Chancellor, toward our Faculty of Administration.”

Joliane Martel, one of the recipients of a CIBC scholarship in 2018-2019, spoke to thank CIBC for its financial support of her post-secondary studies.

The announcement was made during a celebration of the performance by the Faculty of Administration’s delegation to the Commerce Games, before a large number of students, staff members and CIBC employees, all Université de Moncton graduates.

The aim of the major Evolution Fundraising Campaign is to heighten excellence in research and development and provide a very enriching student experience at the Université de Moncton. The Université de Moncton is using this fundraising campaign to continue to develop one of the most generous and motivating scholarship programs in the province to support its students, recruit new ones and support postgraduate studies.
