The Université de Moncton’s cross-country teams will host their annual competition on Saturday on the Moncton campus at 12 p.m. (women) and 12:45 p.m. (men).

This is the fourth and final cross-country competition before the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) championship to be held in Halifax, on Saturday, October 27, hosted by Dalhousie University.

“Following our first three races, we are excited to host other AUS teams on our Lafrance hills,” said coach Jean-Marc Doiron. “The route on our campus is known to be one of the hardest of the Maritime. We have the advantage of practising on it every week and we should be able to have good times. Individually, Carol-Ann MacDonald should do well after resting for the last two weeks. Our younger athletes, such as Sophie Black and David Basque, are expected to perform well, as should veterans Nassim Bousmaha and Vincent Leclair.”

Sophie Black, Myriam Cormier, Myriam Cyr, Laurence Guitard, Émile Guthrie, Emilie Jennings, Carol-Ann MacDonald, Pascale Richard and December Sampson will run the 6 km women’s race.

David Basque, Nassim Bousmaha, Simon Delorme, Christian Haché, Alexandre Leclair, Vincent Leclair, Jeremy Role and Jean-Raphaël Vinay are registered for the 8 km men’s race.

The public is invited to support the runners.
