Alexis Gauvin, a student enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) program at the Faculty of Engineering of the Université de Moncton, is the first recipient of the Bourse Rhéal-Hébert valued at $700. The scholarship was presented to Alexis in the presence of Annette Hébert, Mr. Hébert’s sister, and Jacques Bourque, donor and friend of Mr. Hébert, at the faculty’s annual banquet held this past April 7.

More than 30 years after Rhéal Hébert’s death, his university friends, family and friends created the Fonds de bourses Rhéal-Hébert to honour his memory and legacy. The Bourse Rhéal-Hébert is awarded to Francophone students from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island who are registered in the first year of an engineering program during the period immediately following receipt of their high school diploma and who have an excellent academic record.

Congratulations and best wishes for success to the recipient, Alexis Gauvin, and sincere thanks to all donors for their generous support of students in their academic endeavours.

The Fonds de bourses Rhéal-Hébert brochure is available online (in French).
