Aigles Bleues to host Varsity Reds Saturday

Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues have two games on schedule this weekend in Atlantic University Sport women’s volleyball action.

The Monette Boudreau-Carroll coached team (4-13=8 points, 5th position) is hosting University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds (0-17=0 points, 6th position) this Saturday at 2 p.m. in the CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud gymnasium. Sunday, the team will travel to Halifax to meet the Saint Mary’s University Huskies (11-5=22 points, 2nd position) at 2 p.m.

The Aigles Bleues are assured fifth place in the final standings and are out of the playoffs. The Varsity Reds are looking for a first win this season.

“We were 3-1 winners against the Reds in our last outing against them, but this weekend’s games will not be easy,” stated Monette Boudreau-Carroll. “We are still looking to solidify our play and find the right mix of roles on the court for next season.”

Boudreau-Carroll is proud to announce that Joanie Arsenault, of Tracadie, and Eliza Druart, of Moncton, will join her team for the 2018-2019 season. Both were members of the bronze medallist volleyball team New Brunswick at the 2017 Canada Games.
