Campbell Lea is a full-service independent law firm located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. We take pride in our firm's longevity and are devoted to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, which have characterized this firm for more than one hundred years. Our summer student program is designed to provide our summer students with a challenging and dynamic foundation to their legal careers. Building on each student’s core legal training, we provide exposure to the practice of law by pairing our students with our experienced and knowledgeable practitioners. It is our goal to give our summer students the tools required to succeed as lawyers at Campbell Lea. We are currently seeking a bright and motivated summer student for the period between May to August 2024. The successful candidate will: - Undertake a series of legal research and writing projects under the supervision of a partner, including but not limited to; Research and assistance in drafting case proposals, submissions, case summaries and position statements on a variety of files Research and writing support for other projects and issues as they emerge over the summer - Demonstrate strong communication skills (verbal and written) - Possess strong time management skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team - Demonstrate a strong commitment to client service All applications should include a cover letter, resume, writing sample, all university and law school transcripts, and a list of 3 references.
