Men's hockey: Two weekend Aigles Bleus Games
With only one pre-season game played so far, the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus will play twice, Friday and Saturday, in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey.
Derek Cormier's squad will travel to Wolfville on Friday to face the Acadia University Axemen at 7 p.m. On Saturday at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena, the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men will be the visitors at 7 p.m.
“These are two important pre-season games for us because we begin the regular season next Wednesday,” said head coach Derek Cormier. “We have only played one game and our two from last weekend were cancelled due to the hurricane. We will ice a fast team that will be quick in transition.”
Fans will have a first glimpse of the 2022-2023 edition of the Blue and Gold on Saturday. Rémy Anglehart and Olivier-Luc Haché could miss the games. Félix-Anthony Éthier and Dorian Laganière will share the task in front of the net on Friday and Étienne Montpetit on Saturday.
Moncton begins its regular season Wednesday (Oct. 5) in Charlottetown against the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers. The first home game will be on Saturday, October 8 against the University of New Brunswick Reds.
