Aigles Bleues play Tommies on Sunday
The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (5-6-1=11 points, 5th position) travel to Fredericton on Sunday for a matchup with the St. Thomas University Tommies (8-2-0=16 points, 1st place) in an Atlantic University Sport (AUS) women’s hockey game. This is the first game between the two teams this season. “We are going to Fredericton to give them a good game and come back with the two points,” said Moncton coach Marc-André Côté. “We had a number of good playing moments on Thursday, but we need more offensive punch. The league is well balanced and I expect a great game. The Tommies have a good goaltender, and they move the puck well. We need to be quick on our feet.”
Katryne Villeneuve of the Aigles Bleues is the AUS women’s hockey top scorer with 9 goals and 4 assists, with 13 points, one more than Huskies Siobhan Birch.
