The painting is the work of Robert Vital (Bob) Landry (1924-2016), who gifted it to Mr. Michaud to mark his appointment to the Order of Canada in 2003.
The donation of the work to the university was the decision and wish of Ruth Snow who inherited it from her friend, Mr. Michaud. The donation was coordinated by Fernand Arsenault, a good friend and colleague of Mr. Michaud.
An artist, musician and painter, Robert Landry was a pioneer in the area of commercial silk screening. He collaborated with several Acadian artists to promote the evolution of this art form in Acadie and Canada.
