Partnership agreement with the
Université Libre de Bruxelles
The Faculty of Law has signed a
specific collaboration agreement with
the Université Libre de Bruxelles’s
Faculty of Law. This agreement
enhances the framework agreement
for cooperation between the two
universities, inter alia, by allowing
Université de Moncton law students
to study at the Université Libre de
Bruxelles in Belgium.
Senegalese dignitaries visit
the Université de Moncton
His Excellency Ousmane Paye, Ambas-
sador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
of Senegal to Canada, and Saïba Sylla,
First Counsellor of the Embassy of
Senegal to Canada, visited the Moncton
campus in May 2016. His Excellency and
Mr. Sylla were accompanied by James
Thériault, Director of the Multilateral
Francophonie (Branch) of the Executive
Council Office of the Government of
New Brunswick.
Certificates for successful
completion of the introductory
course on life in Canada
In December 2016, the Continuing
Education Program at the Edmundston
campus awarded a total of 19 certif-
icates of attendance at a ceremony
honouring international college students
who successfully completed the intro-
ductory course on life in Canada.
Learning Beyond Borders
Initiative
The Université de Moncton joined
the Canadian Bureau for International
Education’s
Learning Beyond Borders
initiative to allow more Canadian
students to take advantage of learning
experiences in other countries.
A delegation of 16 Caribbean
universities at the Université
de Moncton
In November, as part of the Emerging
Leaders in the Americas Program
Collaboration mission, the Université
de Moncton hosted a delegation of
16 Caribbean universities from the
Bahamas, Belize, Cuba, the Dominican
Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti,
Jamaica, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru
and Uruguay.
Participation in the Eurobot
International Competition
A group of students from the Faculty of
Engineering took part in the finale of the
Eurobot International Competition, “The
International Students Robotic Contest,”
in Kremlin-Bicêtre, France. This annual
competition provides a unique oppor-
tunity for the best robotics groups,
selected during national qualifications,
to compete against teams from various
countries. This year’s theme was “The
Beach Bots.” The photo shows (from left
