Donald J. Savoie, a professor who holds
the Canada Research Chair in Public
Administration and Governance, is a
Canada 150 ambassador. The
Government of Canada has asked
150 Canadians from all walks of life—
business, the scientific community,
the arts, music and sport—to contribute
to the Canada 150 celebrations.
Professor Savoie is one of the academic
representatives.
Unveiling of the new
“Allée des Eudistes”
The Eudists’ contribution to the
growth of the City of Edmundston
and to post-secondary education
was immortalized by the unveiling
of the new “Allée des Eudistes” at the
Université de Moncton, Edmundston
campus. The “Allée des Eudistes”
refers to the road that leads to three
buildings on the campus, starting
at Hébert Boulevard: the Forestry
Pavilion, the Louis-A.-LeBel Pavilion
and the Simon-Larouche Pavilion.
Grand finale of the
Expo-sciences francophone
du Nouveau-Brunswick at
the Shippagan campus
More than 100 young scientists
gathered at the Shippagan campus in
April to participate in the grand finale
of the Expo-sciences francophone du
Nouveau-Brunswick. For the second
year in a row, the campus hosted the
event attended by young people from
grades 6 to 12 in francophone schools
across the province.
École d’été de perfectionnement
sur le vieillissement (summer
program on aging)
For the second year in a row, close to
120 stakeholders working in a variety
of sectors within the field of aging in
New Brunswick participated in the
École d’été de perfectionnement sur
le vieillissement. Organized by the
Université de Moncton’s Continuing
Education Office, Shippagan campus,
this professional development activity
was an outstanding success. Twelve
prominent speakers in the field of aging,
including Dr. Réjean Hébert, Nicole
Poirier, Suzanne Dupuis-Blanchard
and Elda Savoie, shared their expertise
with the participants, enabling them to
improve their interventions with seniors.
