The psychological well-being initiative continues
The Université de Moncton’s psychological well-being initiative (IMEP),
conducted in cooperation with the Department of Post-Secondary
Education, Training and Labour under the sponsorship of the University
of New Brunswick’s Health and Education Research Group (HERG),
is progressing well at all three campuses. Several workshops and
presentations were initiated by Student Affairs. Preliminary results
demonstrate a great willingness on the part of participants to engage
in mobilization activities aimed at making the Université de Moncton
experience as inclusive and healthy as possible.
It should be noted that the Université de Moncton is the only post-
secondary institution taking part in the initiative that has succeeded in
implementing an approach focused on the psychological well-being of
students, employees and faculty members.
Strategic plan: one step further
In June 2014, the Board of Governors’ governance committee tabled a work
plan that provides for the undertaking of 18 projects grouped under nine
themes.
The Board intends to adopt best practices, a governance framework and a
code of conduct for its members. It also plans to put forth a compensation
policy for the institution’s senior management.
Joint library project
The Web hosting migration project to SirsiDynix (SaaS - cloud) for the entire
Université de Moncton, Vitalité Health Network and CCNB library network
occurred in February 2015.
The new technology enables the network’s libraries to effect cost savings
and offer improved services.
Sharing technology services
The Université de Moncton will participate in the next implementation of a
single sign-on for New Brunswick and Prince-Edward Island universities.
The university will be able to become a member of the Canadian Access
Federation and share technology services with other institutions in the
future.
New annual report to donors
A new format has been developed to present financial information to donors
on an annual basis. The intent is to improve the information available on the
performance of the university’s endowment fund and investment policy.
Committee on integration activities for new students
A committee on integration activities for new students has been
established. Chaired by the vice-president, Student and International Affairs,
the multi-sectorial committee is responsible for updating the policy on
integration activities for new students at the Université de Moncton’s three
campuses.
