Honouring graduates
The Moncton Campus’s alumni and friends association honoured two
graduates during a recognition evening held November 12, 2010 at the
Delta Beauséjour Hotel. Christine St-Pierre, Quebec’s minister of culture,
communications and the status of women, received the Université de
Moncton’s
Ordre du mérite
award,
while Éric Mathieu Doucet,
executive director of the Société
nationale de l’Acadie, received the
Prix Émergence
award in recognition
of the new generation of graduates
making a name for themselves in
various fields.
Excellent placement rate
The results of a study conducted in the spring of 2009 indicate that
the placement rate for Université de Moncton bachelor’s degree-level
graduates is excellent since 97.6 per cent of those available for work in the
labour market at the time of the survey had found a job. This rate is higher
than those measured in 1999, 2001 and 2004. The study also shows that 88
per cent of graduates work in New Brunswick compared to 82.2 per cent
in the previous survey.
