Inland Flood Zone Mapping in New Brunswick

GENERAL

The objective of this project is to update the information on flood zones, which in the province can sometimes date back more than 30 years. The first of the project's three phases consists of developing a method to simulate flood hydrographs for ungauged watersheds in Southeastern New Brunswick, using a hydrological model. The second phase will be the calibration of a hydraulic model. The third phase will be to establish a geographic system in order to map inland flood zones.

Research focus:

  • Water resources management
  • Geographical Information System
  • Hydrological Modeling
  • Hydraulic Modelling
