Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues coach Marc-André Côté is pleased to announce that two players, Laura Tremblay and Ashley Lafrance, have signed their U SPORTS letter of agreement to join his women's hockey team for the upcoming Atlantic University Sport academic year.

Laura Tremblay of Quebec City and Ashley Lafrance of Fredericton are the two players who will play for the Aigles Bleues.

Laura Tremblay 20 years old is 5 feet 6 inches tall and is originally from the Lac-St-Jean region. She played with Cégep Limoilou Titans of RSEQ. “I wanted to play at the university level while continuing my education,” said Laura Tremblay. “This team allows me to study in French and practise my English, which I think is an asset. I want to continue to perform and improve at the university level. I want to continue to train actively and intensively.” She has been in the sport for 13 years. Her strengths are her speed, presence in front of the net, intensity, and efficiency in penalty kill. “I would like to improve my full-speed puck control, skills and shots. I would like to perform in terms of my personal statistics.” She will pursue studies in kinesiology. She plays soccer and dek hockey.

Ashley Lafrance 19 years old is 5 feet 8 inches. She was born and lives in Fredericton and played for the NCAA division 2 Elmira College Soaring Eagles last season. “After completing a year of study in the U.S., I can't wait to return to New Brunswick to pursue my hockey career and my studies in French,” said Ashley Lafrance. “I can't wait to be part of a sports team with a great culture and so much support. I am excited to be able to follow my sister who is completing her studies at the Université de Moncton this year.” Her ambition is to continuously improve her play. “My goal is to always contribute to the success of my team and win a championship. I've been playing hockey since I was seven years old. I am hardworking, determined, and I play a physical and a defensive game.” She wants to improve her speed and confidence while on the offensive. She will pursue studies in biology.
