The Université de Moncton and Correctional Service Canada (CSC) have signed a collaboration agreement that will provide a minimum of ten internships for students in Université de Moncton's Criminology programs through the public service CO-OP program. The agreement applies to the Criminology major and French immersion programs.

“This partnership enriches the academic experience of students in the Criminology program,” said Dr. Denis Prud'homme, President and Vice-Chancellor, “and the benefits are felt on both sides. This is our fourth collaborative agreement with CSC, and we are very proud of it.”

CSC is also committed to exploring the possibility of offering the orientation course, normally intended for CSC parole officers prior to their hiring, to a target group of criminology students.

As part of this agreement, the Université de Moncton is committed, among other things, to exploring the possibility of conducting research at CSC on bilingualism and to providing two spaces, free of charge, for CSC employees who participate in its French immersion program.

The agreement will be in effect for a period of five years, from January 2023 to January 2028.
