Erica Plourde and William Basque are UMoncton athletes of the week
Two hockey players that play at center, Erica Plourde of Pigeon Hill and William Basque of Grand Tracadie, New Brunswick, are the IRM Moncton MRI athletes of the week from February 13 to 19, 2023 as chosen by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Center Erica Plourde scored two goals and added three assists in the Aigles Bleues three quarterfinal games during the week. She took 14 shots on goal. She was motivated every time she was on the ice and helped her team stay in the games. She is a 2nd year student in education-mathematics.
Forward William Basque scored a goal and added an assist in the Aigles Bleus two quarterfinal playoff games last week. He scored the winning overtime goal in the first game. He made his presence felt on the ice every time and launched many of his team’s attack. He is a second-year civil engineering student.
