Hockey: Huskies visit Aigles Bleues on Thursday
The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (0-1) have their backs against the wall in preparation for the second game of the Atlantic University Sport women's hockey quarterfinal best of 3 series against the Saint Mary's University Huskies (1-0) to be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.
A loss in this second game will eliminate the Aigles Bleues from the playoffs and their 2022-2023 season will end.
“The players are aware of the situation,” said Moncton coach Marc-André Côté. “We played well on Tuesday night in Halifax and it's not the first time this season that we have had to fight. It's a familiar situation because we needed to fight for a playoff spot at the end of the regular season. We have the chance to play this game in our nest and show that we are capable.”
The Huskies won the first game 3-1 on Tuesday night. In a short series, anything can happen, and the Aigles intend to fight until the last whistle.
