The Atlantic University Sport best of 3 women's hockey quarterfinal series gets underway Tuesday evening in Halifax between the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues and the Saint Mary's University Huskies.

The Huskies finished third in the regular season and the Aigles Bleues were sixth. The Nova Scotia team also won all four regular-season games between these two clubs. A major challenge awaits the Blue and Gold.

For Captain Isadora Quirion, “We have no choice but to come out strong. We need to play our game for 60 minutes without taking any time off. It's a new season and we'll have to do the little things well. We have been preparing for this moment all year. The situation is different mentally and physically, the game increases by a notch and it's important to take care of ourselves and stay in the playoff focus.”

“We grew up during the season and it's 0-0 now,” added Moncton coach Marc-André Côté. “It's a short series and we know Saint Mary's which has a good team. We need to watch their player Shae Demale. It's always a physical game against this team and we must show the will to compete in our battles. We are facing a great challenge. We've played some big games this year and our record doesn't reflect our play on the ice. We have a good team and we're going to have a good series.”

The second game will be played Thursday at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque arena. Tickets will be available at the arena box office one hour before game time.
