Aigles Bleus in Charlottetown on Wednesday
The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (11-15-1-1=24pts, 5th position) will cross the Confederation Bridge on Wednesday for a game against the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers (16-9-2-1=35pts, 3rd position) in an Atlantic University Sport men's hockey game in Charlottetown.
This is the second last game of the regular season for the Blue and Gold who have lost their last three outings. Moncton has a record of 78 goals scored compared to 92 allowed; a difference of -14 while the Panthers are 97 and 76, a difference of 21 points.
Moncton is one point ahead of the Acadia University Axemen in 6th place and wants to finish its season in 5th. The final two games will bring challenges against the Panthers and University of New Brunswick Reds.
“We're getting ready for this game,” said coach Derek Cormier. “We place the emphasis on preparing for the playoffs. We need to play a big game and take our game up a notch before the playoffs. Acadia is on our heels, and we have to come out with two wins to keep our 5th position.”
Several players will miss the game, being on the injured list. Some could return to action on Wednesday. A final decision will be made the same day.
