Crucial match between Aigles Bleues and Tommies
The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (10-16-0-0=20pts, 6th position) have yet to confirm their playoff participation as they travel to Fredericton on Wednesday to face the St. Thomas University Tommies (8-16-2-0=18pts, 7th position) in an Atlantic University Sport women's hockey game.
Wednesday's game could be decisive with a win for the Aigles Bleues that would confirm their place in the playoffs with a game left to play. A loss for the Blue and Gold will tie the two teams in the standings with a final game at the end of the week.
“We've put ourselves in this position and it's up to us to get out of it,” Moncton coach Marc-Andre Côté said. “We made some corrections after Saturday's game. It will not be easy, this team is fighting for its life like us and the feeling of despair should guide us, nothing changes. We will see what will happen.”
The Tommies defeated the Aigles 3-2 on Saturday in Moncton, and this return game is promising. The game can be watched at austv.ca at 7 p.m.
