Volleyball: Aigles Bleues face Reds Saturday
Joline Richard's team is looking for a third win of the season Saturday when the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (2-11=4pts, 5th position) travel to Fredericton to face the University of New Brunswick Reds (7-7-14pts,4th place) in an Atlantic University Sport women's volleyball game at 7 p.m.
The Aigles have lost all four of their 2023 games and are 10 points behind the Reds for the fourth and final position to qualify for the season-ending playoffs with 7 games to play.
“We're definitely going there for the win,” said coach Richard. “We have achieved great things and we compete with each team. The scores are close, but we can't finish for the win. It's a real team effort; a good group of players and all of them get into it and play their part.”
Ivana Urquhart-Mladineo remains the athlete with the best stats for the blue and gold with 77 kills and 43 digs and 2.3 points per set in 13 games, rank 11th in AUS leaders. Sara Chiasson with 77 kills and 88 digs and 2.2 points per inning is ranked 14th.
