Erica Plourde and Edouard St-Laurent are the UMoncton athletes of the week
Hockey players Erica Plourde of Pigeon Hill, New Brunswick, and Edouard St-Laurent, of Lévis Québec, are the athletes of the week IRM Moncton MRI from January 16 to 22, 2023 as chosen by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Forward Erica Plourde played well in three games with a goal and three (3) assists for the Aigles Bleues against the top Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey teams. She also won 30 of 41 face-offs (14 of 15 against the Reds on Saturday) and took 16 shots on goal, including 7 in Tuesday night's game and 4 on Friday. She showed a lot of energy during the games with tight scores. She is a second-year student in education - physical education.
Left winger Edouard St-Laurent was consistent for the Aigles Bleus with two (2) goals and an assist in the weekend's two hockey games on the road. He scored the first of two goals on Friday with 6 shots. He added a goal and an assist in Saturday's game with 4 shots. He also won 13 of 23 face-offs, having played center. He is a second-year student in education - physical education.
