Hockey: The Aigles Bleues looking for 4 points

With two wins in their last outings, the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (9-11-0-0=18pts,6th position) will play two weekend games in Atlantic University Sport women's hockey action.

The team will be in Charlottetown on Friday evening for a clash with the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers (12-6-1-0=25pts, 4th position) at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the J.-Louis-Lévesque arena on the Moncton campus will see the University of New Brunswick Reds (17-1-1-1=36pts, 1st position) meet the Aigles Bleues at 7 p.m.

“We aim to continue with our momentum,” said Elodie St-Jacques. “We want to continue the winning streak and send another message to the Panthers and Reds.”

“Our goal is to be better every game and we hope to continue this momentum following our Tuesday victory,” added coach Marc-André Côté. “We want to follow the process. We have shown that we are capable of playing with any team. We will focus on our game and see where it takes us against these two higher-ranked clubs.”

Both teams are higher in the standings and Moncton wants to move closer to the Dalhousie Tigers, who are5th with 21 points. Moncton now has a 5-point lead over the St. Thomas University Tommies, who are 7th for the last playoff qualifying spot with 8 games left in the regular schedule.
