Hockey: Aigles Bleus looking for two wins
After suffering defeat in their last 5 games, the time to return to the winning column is emerging this weekend with two home games for the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey action.
The Blue and Gold (10-9-1-0=21pts, 4th position) sits in 4th place in the standings and will host the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men (9-10-1-0=19pts, 5th position) on Friday and the Dalhousie University Tigers (3-16-0-1=7pts, 7th position), Saturday, both games at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.
“We have two very important games to get back on the road to victory and also distance ourselves from teams lower than us in the standings,” said coach Derek Cormier. “We play two home games and then we will have four games on the road, so it's important to win this weekend. The X-Men follow us closely and the ranking can change quickly. We will have to be ready for the games and play 60 minutes. The return of four players should help.”
Forwards Mika Cyr, Thomas Cusson and Édouard St-Laurent and defenseman Olivier Desjardins will return to action on Friday. Only defender Vincent Lanoue will be missing.
