Shani Rossignol and Jacob Dion are the UMoncton athletes of the week
Hockey achievements earned Shani Rossignol of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes New Brunswick and Jacob Dion of Sherbrooke Quebec the title of IRM Moncton MRI Athletes of the Week from January 2 to 8, 2023 as selected by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Forward Shani Rossignol showed a lot of skill in the Aigles Bleues two women's hockey games last weekend. She had a goal and an assist with 4 shots on goal and won 3 of 6 faceoffs. She was named her team's player of the game on Saturday. She is a third-year Health Sciences Preparatory Program (D.S.S.) student.
Defensemen Jacob Dion distinguished himself during the two Aigles Bleus men's hockey games against the two top AUS teams. He recorded 2 assists on Wednesday with 2 shots and added a shot on goal Friday. He has 3 goals and 16 assists for 19 points in 20 games in his rookie season. He is a first-year criminology student.
