Adoption of Guiding Principles for the Preparation of the 2023-2024 Budget
The Board of Governors has adopted the guiding principles that will be used to prepare the 2023-2024 budget of the Université de Moncton.
The four principles are:
1. Plan strategic investments to support the future development of the university in line with the strategy.
2. Prioritize quality teaching and an innovative research and development/creation/innovation sector that directly contributes to the university’s development.
3. Support access to university education by keeping tuition increases to a minimum and maintaining a financial aid program for students in need.
4. Improve the student experience by prioritizing student support services to ensure academic success.
“These principles are rules of action formulated in affirmations and are structured around four themes deemed essential to ensure the financial sustainability of the Université de Moncton,” said Gabriel Cormier, Vice-President, Administration and Human Resources. “While we have experienced the highest enrolment in the past 10 years, we must continue to be fiscally prudent while sustaining growth and supporting student success.”
The 2023-2024 budget presentation will take place at the April 2023 Board of Governors meeting.
Nomination
The board also voted to appoint Nancy Black to the position of Assistant Dean of Engineering.
