Erica Plourde and Mika Cyr are the UMoncton Athletes of the Week
Athletes Erica Plourde of Pigeon Hill and Mika Cyr of Sainte-Anne de Madawaska, New Brunswick, are the IRM Moncton MRI athletes of the week from Nov. 7th to 13th, 2022 as chosen by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Aigles Bleues hockey center Erica Plourde played two games last week. She had two assists and 7 shots on goal. She won 15 of 29 face-offs. Plourde stood out on the ice with her disciplined play. She is a second year student in education - mathematics.
Mika Cyr had a great weekend and was a big contributor to both Aigles Bleus men's hockey wins. He collected a goal and three assists and contributed to 4 of his team's 6 goals. He directed 10 shots at opposing goalies and finished the games at +3. He also won 19 of 31 face-offs on Friday and 19 of 25 on Saturday. He was selected the Subway player of the game on Saturday. He is a third year Bachelor of Education - Physical Education student.
