Hockey: Aigles Bleus host Reds on Saturday
The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (1 and 0) will host the University of New Brunswick Reds (0 and 0) on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey game at the J.-Louis-Lévesque arena.
Fresh off a 4-2 win over the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers, Derek Cormier's players won't have an easy task against the recent conference leaders.
“It's going to be an intense game, even though it didn't go well for us in the preseason game,” said rookie Thomas Cusson. “We owe them one. We'll have to have a more defensive system of play and then go out and score goals.”
“All teams are tough and have a different style,” added coach Derek Cormier. “The game will be fast, and we will have to respond with our speed. We had a bad second period against them in preseason, we will have to play consistently.”
“We'll have to keep on going and focus on our strengths,” added goalkeeper Étienne Montpetit. “You never know what can happen, we are capable of competing in the league.”
The Reds face the Panthers on Friday night in Fredericton. The Panthers defeated Moncton 6-1 in the preseason game.
