SUA Soccer: UMoncton Soccer Teams to play in the Halifax Area Saturday and Sunday

Université de Moncton soccer teams are heading east this weekend to play two games in the Halifax area in Atlantic University Sport soccer.

The Aigles Bleues and Aigles Bleus will face the Dalhousie University Tigers on Saturday and the Saint Mary's University Huskies in the return game on Sunday, with duals at 5 p.m. (women) and 7:15 p.m. (men) on both days.

“Our goal is to get our first point of the season,” said Aigles Bleues women coach Mehyar Zekaroui. “We play against two good teams, but we can threaten from time to time, and surprise. We know Saint Mary's better after Sunday's game and we expect to play better.”

For Aigles Bleus head coach, Younes Bouida, “these are two very important games on the road. We usually play very well on the road. The players are focused, even in this study week. Everyone is aware we are playing for important points. We scored our first victory, and we need to go for it. Saint Mary's will want revenge for our victory on Sunday.”

The record of the women Aigles Bleues is 0-4-0=0 points, 10th position. The Tigers are 4-0-2=14 points, 2nd position and the Huskies, 3-1-2=11 points, 4th position.

On the men's side, the Aigles Bleus are 7th in the standings with a record of 1-1-2=5 points. The Tigers are 3-1-2=11 points, 4th position and the Huskies, 4-2-0=12 points, 3rd position.
