In-person Graduation Ceremonies at the Université de Moncton

The Université de Moncton will award nearly 1,000 diplomas and certificates, as well as 14 honorary degrees to distinguished individuals who have made outstanding contributions to their respective fields.

“The challenges of the past two years have made us all more resilient,” said President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Denis Prud'homme. “Congratulations and bravo to all our graduates and honorary degree recipients! You are all models of excellence, and your achievements fill us with pride!”

At the Shippagan campus convocation on Friday, May 20, Chancellor Louise Imbeault will present two honorary doctorates: one in Visual Arts to Léopold Foulem, and one in Arts to Renée Blanchar. Diane Saucier (Biology) and Louise Beaulieu (Linguistics) will become professors emeriti.

On Saturday, May 21, at the Edmundston campus, the Chancellor will award an honorary doctorate in Community Service to Pauline Banville-Pérusse.

There will be two days of ceremonies on the Moncton campus, May 27 and 28. The honorary doctors will be: Judge Marc Richard, honorary Doctor of Law, Andréa Bear Nicholas, honorary Doctor of Linguistics, Léopold Belliveau, honorary Doctor of Political Science, Ingo Kolboom, honorary Doctor of Acadian Studies, and Clarissa Desjardins, honorary Doctor of Science and Administration. Diane Pruneau in Education and Gaston LeBlanc in Administration will become Professors Emeriti. The 2020-2021 recipients will also be recognized: Michel Doucet, Professor Emeritus in Law, and Nha Nguyen, Professor Emeritus in Administration.

The recipients of the Excellence in Mentorship Award are:  Gilles Robichaud (2021-2022), Luc Martin (2020-2021), and Yahia Djaoued (2019-2020). The recipients of the Excellence in Teaching Award are: Richard Gibson (2020-2021), and Stéphane Laulan (2019-2020).
