Volleyball: Gabrielle LeClair will join the Aigles Bleues
Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues coach Joline Richard is pleased that Gabrielle LeClair of Dieppe has signed her U SPORTS letter of intent to join her team for the upcoming Atlantic University Sport (AUS) women’s volleyball season.
A 5-foot 7-inch athlete, she plays with the Reds Crimson -18 years volleyball New Brunswick team. “I love the competition,” she said. “My goal was to play at the AUS level. The Aigles Bleues have a young and talented team with a dynamic culture. The coaching staff will allow me to fully develop my skills as a volleyball player.”
The athlete is looking to work on her technique and learn everything she can from teammates and coaches. She wants to contribute to the success of the team. She has been playing in this sport for 8 years and her strengths are her defense and service.
“I perform very well under pressure,” she added. “I want to improve my net game and deepen my knowledge in all aspects of the game including strategy and attacking plan at the university level.”
She is enrolled in the DSS program at the Moncton campus. She played at the Canada Cup with some current blue and gold players.
“On the court, left-handed Gabrielle stands out with her versatility, perseverance and enthusiasm,” said coach Joline Richard. “She is a hard-working player, and we are very happy to welcome her to our team.”
