Women's hockey: Reds visit Aigles Bleues Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (21-9-10-1-1=20pts) are installed in 6th place in the rankings and have the chance to climb a notch this weekend during their last regular 2021-2022 season game in Atlantic University Sport women's hockey.

The University of New Brunswick Reds (19-14-3-0-2=30pts, 2nd place) will be the opponents Saturday at 2 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena in a game that promises. The Reds have scored wins in the previous three meetings between these two teams this season. Blue and gold will not have an easy task.

“This is our last game of preparation for the playoffs that begin next week,” said head coach Marc-André Côté. “We aim to end the season in style. Our defensive game is improving and we want to keep our pace. We worked on small details during our training. I have access to full staff for the first time in a long time. We'll see how we stand on Saturday.”

Moncton will participate next week in a one-game road quarterfinal playoff contest. The opposition and the location of the game will be decided once the ranking is finalized.

Spectators may attend the match Saturday. They must wear a face mask properly at all times in the arena, unless they are actively eating or drinking. Proof of dual vaccination and identity is no longer required to access the building. Tickets can be purchased at the arena box office prior to the game.
