The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus will have their work cut out for them on Friday when they host University of Prince Edward Island Panthers in an Atlantic University Sport men's hockey game at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena at 7 p.m.

The Panthers (8-7-2-1=19pts, 4th position) have won the honors of the three previous games between the two clubs this season. The Aigles Bleus (5-12-1-1=12pts, 7th position) are looking to erase their series of four defeats in a row in their last games. This is the fourth clash and the Panthers won the last outing, 4-2, on December 1st.

“We showed last Saturday that we are capable of playing well,” said head coach Judes Vallée. “Our injured players are back, which gives us more flexibility on the bench. We held specific Panther’s training sessions this week. We worked on our special units in addition to our offensive. It is important to shoot and score goals. The Panthers have a good defense that we need to counter with good efficient offensive strategies.”

Moncton has scored 44 goals and allowed 73 in 19 games this season compared to 60 and 57 for the Panthers in 18 games. This is the first game for the island team this semester.

“It's our second game of the semester and we are give everything in our training,” said defensemen Olivier Desjardins. “Our three practices have special features to face the Panthers. We hope to win our games and climb in the rankings. We will put everything in place in this very competitive league to win. Defensively, we want to limit the number of opponent’s goals and relaunch the attack.”

Holders of the Aigles Bleus men's hockey season tickets are asked to use the ticket for the January 5, 2022 (UPEI) game for access to the game.

Spectators are admitted to the game. They must present proof of double vaccination against COVID-19 and a government-issued ID card to access the rink. They will be required to always wear a face mask when in the arena, except for active drinking or eating.
